What should you wear for your photo shoot. I feel that all photographs should be unique to the subject or family. That being said it is also important that some of the shots from your photo shoot remain timeless.

Timeless photographs are achieved by wearing solid clothing that will not look dated in 20 years. White shirts and jeans or tan pants are a great way to keep your photo looking fresh for years to come. This approach works great for family photographs.

I also love to capture personality for a more modern photograph I encourage subjects to wear vivid colors and subtle patterns. It is not important that in a photograph with multiple subjects that they are completely match however a nice color pallet that compliments one another is a must for successful pictures.

What not to wear

  • Orange or Red tend to cast a hue on to the skin, making the subject look orange or red
  • Busy patterns, large dots, bold stripes can stand out more than the face
  • Large logos or graphics
